Head Coach 2010-2015

Hall of Fame Class of 2017

Coach Wilson opened the building in 2010 as both the math department chair & head cross country coach.  The amount of work that he put in to get the school & the program started cannot be measured.  The cross country team only had 28 athletes the first year but within two years, turned both the girls and boys squads into Regional & State contenders.  By the time Coach Wilson left the program he had five teams qualify for state, two State runner up finishes & All squads (Varsity's, JV's & C-team's) finishing in the top half of the toughest league in the State (EKL).  What made coach Wilson so special was his ability to lead a group of people.  It did not matter if they were adults, kids, athletes, students, scholars or regular “Joes” he would find a way to connect on a personal level and get them to buy into the program & make it their own.  He was a mentor to many athletes & coaches in his time BVSW.  The team would not be where it is today without his hard work & sacrifices in its early days.

Athlete 2012-2015

Hall of Fame Class 2017

Tristan came into the program as a freshman in 2012.  Our program was not very good.  We had just come off the previous season finishing last in the EKL.  Tristan was a consistent presence over that summer along with a handful of dedicated athletes.  Tristan surprised us at the first race of the season running 16:45 in our time trial, finishing first on the team.  Tristan spent the next 4 seasons running fast, earning medals & winning races.  Tristan won the 2013-5A State Cross Country Championships.  Tristan finished out his career with the BVSW School record, 4 Runner of the year awards & one of the greatest leaders in the programs history.  He helped so many younger runners come up through the program and his impact has been felt years after he graduated.

-4 time Letter Winner, 4 time BVSW Runner of the Year, 4 time All-EKL & 4 time All-State

-School Record – 16:00 at Olathe North Invitational in 2013

-Number one runner on 2015 State Runner-up Team

-2013 5A Cross Country State Champion

-One of only seven athletes in the last seventeen years who has earned four State Medals
